Key members of the leadership team include:
Robert Krell, President. Beginning his career as an educational writer for the Research Foundation of the State University of NY at Stony Brook, Robert then went on to senior-level positions at major US healthcare marketing communications agencies and was a key creative leader on the US launch of ZOCOR. Since founding Krell Advertising, Inc. and Krell Clinical Communications, LLC, Robert and his communication companies have developed salient materials for healthcare stakeholder audiences including researchers, physicians, and patients. Now, with VECTER, Robert is exercising his passion for plain-language communication that benefits both study participants and sponsors.
Tom Savonick, Creative Director, Copy. Tom has been writing professionally since 1981, when he wrote some of the earliest user manuals for personal computers. That year, Creative Computing magazine noted that the leading PC’s manual began with 64 pages of hexadecimal diagnostic codes that only an electrical engineer could possibly understand. The magazine contrasted that to the guide that Tom wrote, which began with a picture of the correct way to insert a diskette into the disk drive. Since then, Tom has been an award-winning advocate of plain-language writing in advertising, marketing, public relations, employee communications, and executive speechwriting. Since 1999, Tom has focused on healthcare communications. In VECTER, Tom has found the perfect outlet for his talent at translating highly technical material into plain-language informed consent documents.
Eileen Foley, Creative Director, Design. Eileen is an accomplished designer and art director. Her background includes design and creative direction for print, online, multimedia, and most recently, informed consent documents. After graduating from Syracuse University with a BA in Editorial Design, Eileen worked with the renowned Reba Sochis and Lou Dorfsman, where she honed her ability to engage readers with proven design elements and effectively communicate the intended message. She is enthusiastic about working in a cooperative team environment to solve difficult communication problems and believes that graphics must follow an aesthetic line that is directly related to helping the reader clearly and effortlessly understand the material. Her aim in designing VECTER informed consent documents is to merge text, visuals, and layout into a single unit that efficiently informs readers about the study.
